Dryer Repair — Book a Visit Today
A dryer quits in stages. First it takes two cycles to dry towels. Then the drum spins with no heat at all. Sometimes it screeches like a bad brake. In our part of the country, damp river-valley air and long vent runs through old basements make dryers work harder than the label ever promised. What fails: heating elements, thermal fuses, thermostats, igniters on gas units, belts, idler pulleys, drum rollers, door switches, blower wheels packed with lint. A visit starts with your description, then we open the cabinet, test the heat circuit, and check airflow end to end. We service gas and electric dryers of all major brands as an independent shop. Tell us what you hear and smell, and we will tell you what we suspect.

The dryer symptoms we hear most
- It runs but the clothes come out cold and damp Heating circuit: element, thermal fuse, cycling thermostat, or gas igniter and coils
- Takes three hours to dry one load of jeans Restricted airflow — lint-packed vent, crushed duct, or clogged blower housing
- Loud thumping or a metal screech every rotation Worn drum rollers, idler pulley, or shot rear bearing
- Push start and nothing happens at all Door switch, start switch, thermal fuse, or failed drive motor
- Something smells scorched near the dryer Lint buildup against hot components, or a failing motor and burnt wiring at the terminal block
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1Pull the lint screen, hold it under running water, and see if the water beads up instead of passing through — fabric softener film blocks airflow.
- 2Look behind the dryer for a vent hose that is kinked, crushed flat, or pulled loose from the wall.
- 3Make sure the door latches firmly, since a worn strike will keep the drum from starting.
- 4On electric models, check whether the house breaker is half-tripped, which often leaves the drum spinning with no heat.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Ring us or fill in the form. Describe the noise, the smell, the puddle. Give us the brand and rough age. Small details narrow the part before anyone drives to your door.
- Step 2
We set a window
You get a visit window that fits your day, not ours. We text when the van is close. Older shotgun houses have tight halls, so tell us where the machine sits.
- Step 3
Diagnose and repair
Our tech tests the machine, shows you what failed, and explains the fix in plain words. Common parts ride in the van. Anything ordered, we schedule the return before we leave.

Dryer Repair — quick answers
Is a dryer that spins but never heats worth fixing?
Usually, yes. No-heat problems trace to a small number of parts: element, fuse, thermostat, or gas igniter. Those are common repairs on both older and newer machines. We test the circuit and tell you what we find before doing the work.
Do you handle gas dryers as well as electric?
Both. Gas units add an igniter, flame sensor, and gas valve coils to the heat chain, and each is testable. Electric units come down to elements and safeties. We work on either, in laundry rooms, basements, and closet installs.
How long does a dryer repair visit usually take?
Most single-part repairs happen in one visit once we confirm the cause. Diagnosis is quick. If a part must be ordered for your model, we let you know that day and schedule the return trip around your week.
Why does my dryer take so much longer than it used to?
Airflow, nine times out of ten. Lint collects in the blower housing and the duct run, so hot wet air cannot leave. Long basement vent runs in older houses hold moisture. We clear the path and recheck dry time.
My dryer squeals. Can I keep using it?
We would stop. A squeal usually means rollers or an idler pulley are failing, and a seized pulley can shred the belt or overheat the motor. Running it longer turns a small parts job into a larger one.
Which brands do you repair?
We service all major residential brands as an independent company, front load and top load, stacked and side by side. Bring us the model number off the door frame or back panel and we can plan parts before we arrive.

Why homeowners call us
- Hard water is our daily workLimestone water scales heating elements, clogs dishwasher jets, and crusts up valves. We see it every week here. So we look past the error code to the mineral buildup that caused it, then tell you how to slow it down.
- River-valley damp changes thingsHumidity in this valley rusts dryer housings, sours washer gaskets, and stalls condensate drains. Basement laundry rooms suffer worst. We check venting and drainage on every laundry call, because a dry machine stays fixed longer.
- Independent, all major brandsWe work on refrigerators, ranges, ovens, dishwashers, washers, and dryers from every major maker. No brand pays us and no brand tells us what to say. Our advice about repairing or replacing is only ours.
- Old houses, careful handsShotgun homes and pre-war kitchens have narrow doorways, soft floors, and odd wiring. We pad thresholds, protect trim, and move heavy units slowly. When we leave, the only change should be a working appliance.
- All major brands, gas & electricWhirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and more — as an independent repair company.
- Straight answersIf it isn't worth repairing, we'll say so — often on the phone.
