Why does my gas burner keep clicking after it lights?
Usually moisture or spillover is bridging the igniter. Boil-overs, humid kitchen air, and a soapy cleaning all do it. Dry the igniter and cap fully. If the clicking continues after everything is dry, the spark module or switch is likely at fault.
Is a cracked glass cooktop repairable?
The glass itself is not patched. Cracked ceramic surfaces get replaced as an assembly, and whether that makes sense depends on the model and part availability. We look at the crack, the age, and the condition of the elements underneath before recommending anything.
Can you fix a cooktop built into a stone counter?
Yes. Most drop-in units lift out from above once the clips and gas or power connection are released. We take care around limestone and quartz edges. Some sealed installs need a bit more work, and we tell you before we start.
My electric burner cycles on and off constantly. Normal?
Some cycling is normal because infinite switches pulse to hold temperature. Rapid cycling that never settles, or an element that never reaches heat, points to a worn switch or a weak element. Note the timing and mention it when you call us.
Does hard water damage a cooktop?
Mineral deposits from our limestone water leave white film and can crust burner ports over time. That restricts gas flow and dulls the flame. Regular cleaning helps. If the residue baked on for years, ports may need clearing during a service visit.
